Semiliguda accident toll rises to 7, NGO chief arrested

Koraput, Dec 24 (UNI) The toll in yesterday's accident at Simeliguda rose to seven with four more people succumbing to their injuries at hospital.

Police said while five of the injured were shifted to a hospital in Vizag in critical condition, 17 were admitted to the District Headquarter Hospital.

The accident took place when over 70 tribals were travelling in a truck to attend a rally organised by 'Awareness', an NGO at Pottangi.

The vehicle overturned near a bridge.

The police arrested 'Awareness' Chief Kailash Mishra and the driver of the vehicle following the incident.
