Scientific temper needed in young generation
Mumbai, Dec 24: A scientific temper needs to be developed among the young generation for the country to become a scientific superpower or even to compete in the scientific arena in future, Prof CNR Rao, Honorary President, National Research Professor yesterday said.
Delivering INSA medal for Promotion and Service to Science Award Lecture here yesterday, Prof Rao said,''Once developed, this scientific temper will help our young generation to feel the excitement of doing scientific research''.
Giving an example of other emerging countries like China where the number of PhD degree holders has witnessed a phenomenal growth during recent past, he said India needs to produce more doctorates in science than present and needs to publish more research papers in the internationally recognised scientific journals''.
