Scheme to be named after Rajiv Gandhi: CM
Puducherry, Dec 24 (UNI) The scheme, which will provide unemployment allowance to educated unemployed youths in the Union Territory, will be named after Rajiv Gandhi, Chief Minister N Rangasamy said today.
Participating in the National Consumer Day function at Madagadippattu near here, the Chief Minister said the administration would make Puducherry a hut free state in another five years by converting all houses into pucca houses.
The government was providing 10 kg rice free of cost to all ration card holders, he said adding that in case of any complaint about the quality of the rice, it should be made to him in person.
If the Centre permits, the administration would procure paddy and initiate steps to supply the rice, he added.
