Badal demands central forces deployment in Punjab
Patiala , Dec 24 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Parkash Singh Badal today demanded the deployment of central forces in the state to prevent Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh from disturbing peace in the state.
He feared that there will be bloodshed during assembly elections at the behest of Capt Singh.
Addressing a media conference here, Mr Badal said the recovery of RDX from a UK-based militant, Paramjit Singh Thadi by the police last night, further proved that militants were actively moving in the state. In this context he alleged that the militants active in the state had the patronage given of the Chief Minister and demanded a CBI inquiry.
The SAD leader further alleged that when Thadi accompanied by former Akal Takht chief Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode was arrested by the police near Chamkaur Sahib in Ropar, they were both coming out of the house of Harbans Singh Kandola, a SGPC member of SAD-1920. He said it was a hard fact that the SAD-1920 chief Ravi Inder Singh was a close friend of Capt Singh.
The possibility of the militants striking with explosives during the forthcoming assembly elections could not be ruled out, Mr Badal added.
