Vigilance traps head clerk

Patna, Dec 23 (UNI) A team of state vigilance bureau today arrested a head clerk of district agriculture office while he was accepting Rs 3000 as bribe from a person in connection with approval of grant to purchase a tractor.

Additional director general of state vigilance bureau Neelmani said here that trapping was laid after a tip off from one Sanjay Kumar about the demand of money by head clerk Rajendra Prasad Singh to process the relevent papers and documents relating to government grant for purchasing a tractor.

Mr Singh was caught red handed by state vigilance bureau when he was accepting cash in his office.Raids were being carried out at the office to seize incriminating documents and other evidence indicating his involvement in demanding illegal money from other prospective beneficiaries of government grant, he added.
