ULFA man behind Guwahati bombings held
Guwahati, Dec 23 (UNI) An ULFA militant, suspected to be behind the recent bombings in the city, was arrested in the city today.
Police informed that Baby Chetri (30), a cadre of the ULFA's Enigma 'B' group, was arrested from near Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
Chetri was suspected to be involved in the recent bomb blasts that had rocked the city over the past two months.
Meanwhile, security had been tightened in the city following the blast in Athgaon area, which left 18 injured.
Combing operations had been launched and check points stationed at various places in and around the city.
The National Games venues are also under a special security net.
Massive anti-insurgency operations across the state were already being carried out by the Army.
