Two infiltrators killed in BSF firing

Basirhat, Dec 23 (UNI) At least two infiltrators were killed in the BSF firing near the Indo-Bangladesh border at Hakimpur and Koijuri under Swarupnagar police station area in North 24 Parganas early today.

The BSF opened fire after failing to prevent the Bangladeshi smugglers crossing the border with cattle. Seven animals were seized, the BSF sources said.

Incidentally, Bangladesh Rifles also returned at least eight rounds of fire at Hakimpur and Koijuri when the BSF opened fire.

Police said the BSF handed over one body from Hakimpur.
