Three killed, 50 injured as truck overturned in Orissa

Koraput,Orissa,Dec 23 (UNI) Three tribals were killed and 50 injured, 17 of them critically, when a truck carrying them overturned near Simeliguda, about 30 kms from here today.

Police said the tribals were on their way to attend a rally at Patangi when the mishap took place. All the injured had been taken to Koraput hospital for treatment.

Immediately after the incident the locals resorted to road blockade demanding action against the NGO which had organised the rally.

Senior police officials have rushed to the spot to pacify the situation.
