Street children can grow against odds: Gov

Vijayawada, Dec 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor Rameshwar Thakur today expressed the hope that street children could grow against the odds and transform themselves as "pillars of society".

Addressing a gathering of street children at S K C V Children Home here this morning, Mr Thakur said he was 'anguished' to see the fate of orphans.

"In this world people come and go. But what is necessary is that they have to look after those children who need their services", he said.

He lauded the efforts of institutions like S K C V, in taking care of the lot and providing basic amenities to them.
