Shivpal slams Centre for its step-motherly behaviour with UP

Faizabad, Dec 23 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Public Works and Energy Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav today criticised the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre for its step-motherly treatment with UP.

Addressing a gathering here, Mr Singh alleged Centre is against the development activities in UP and therefore, has not provided even a single penny to the state.

''The Samajwadi Party-led UP government is committed to developing the state into 'Uttam Pradesh' but Congress, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are seeing the development works done by the party with a jaundiced eye,'' Mr Singh maintained.

He added ''in a democratic set up, people have the power to decide the fate of any political party. I am seeing the results of the forthcoming Assembly elections through rose coloured spectacles as people will never neglect the development works done by Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.''
