Rs 75 crore for Chhotu Ram University

Sonepat, Dec 23 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to provide Rs 75 crore for the development of Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal during the next three years to make it a centre of excellence on the pattern of IITs.

The Chief Minister, while addressing a gathering at Murthal, said the seats reserved for the people of Murthal had also been increased from 2 to 10 so that the maximum students of this area could get higher education.

He said the present Government had made three universities in Sonepat district alone while during the previous regimes not even a single Govenrment college was sanctioned in the district. He said that in the proposed Rajiv Gandhi Education City, 25 per cent seats would be reserved for the students of the state. Of these 5 per cent meritorious students would be imparted free education while 10 per cent students would be able to get 50 per cent concession in fees and remaining 10 per cent would get 25 per cent concession in fees.
