Rs 4.5 lakh withdrawn from missing cheque book

Sehore, MP, Dec 23 (UNI) A cheque book that went missing from Budhni tahsil office in Sehore district has been used for withdrawing Rs 4.50 lakh illegally from the Chief Minister Relief Fund.

Official sources said the matter came to light yesterday.

The district administration has suspended an official in this connection.

Sources said the money was paid against 17 cheques between November 14 and December 13 by forging the signature of tahsildar Dinesh Tomar.

A case has been registered.
