Rlys ticketing system goes haywire in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 23 (UNI) Total chaos and confusion prevailed at Railway stations across Kerala for several hours in the morning as the computerised ticketing system went offline today.
Railway sources said the problem was caused by a technical snag at the BSNL operating station in Chennai.
Many passengers had to cancel their journey due to the defect in the computerised ticketing system. Long queues were seen in front of ticket counters at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kochi, Kozhikode and all other major stations.
Though the authorities had begun issuing manual tickets in the afternoon, there was a mad rush before the counters.
The Railway sources said the BSNL authorities had informed them that the cable problem which resulted in the peculiar situation would be solved by tonight.
