PVN remembered on his death anniversary
Hyderabad, Dec 23: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy led the state in paying homage to former Prime Minister Pamulaparti Venkata Narasimha Rao on his second anniversary to death here today.
A host of Congress leaders, including Pradesh Congress President K Keshava Rao, MP, and family members including his sons P V Ranga Rao and P V Rajeswara Rao paid floral tributes to the former Prime Minister, who had successfully run a minority government at the Centre.
The gathering at the P V Ghat observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the former Prime Minister, the architect of free market reforms in the country.
Rao, who had held several Cabinet posts under the Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi regimes, was chosen to lead the Congress Government after Rajiv Gandhi's assassination in 1991, it may be recalled.
