Prime Minister arrives in Kolkata
Kolkata, Dec 23 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport this evening on a two-day visit to West Bengal.
Dr Singh was received at the airport by Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi.
Dr Singh was driven straight from the airport to Raj Bhawan, where he would spend the night.
On Sunday morning, Dr Singh would lay the foundation for expansion of IISCO Steel Plant at Burnpur in Bardhaman district.
The Prime Minister would also inaugurate the platinum jubilee celebration of the Indian Statistical Institute at Baranagar near here later in the noon.
The Prime Minister would leave the city tomorrow evening itself.
