Players contract by World Cup, no decision on bowling coach: BCCI
Mumbai, Dec 23 (UNI) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have constituted a three-member committee, consisting of I S Bindra, N Srinivasan and D P Pandove, to finalise the players contract for the new season.
They would be assisted by BCCI administrative head Prof Ratnakar Shetty and secretray Niranjan Shah, cricket board's treasurer N Srinivasan told reporters after the working committee meeting here today.
Srinivasan said the issue of gradation would continue to figure in the players contract and they were at the moment trying to bring about a balance between motivation and performance, adding, the contracts would be in place before the team leaves for the West Indies to participate in the World Cup.
On the issue of Sharad Pawar standing for the ICC President's post for the next term, Srinivasan said the issue was not on the agenda of the Working Committee and thus was not discussed.
When told that the last date of filing the nominations is December 31, Srinivasan maintained that since it was not on the agenda no decision regarding the same was taken today.
The BCCI treasurer also said that the issue of the Indian team taking on a bowling coach did not come up as it was not on the agenda of the meeting.
