Pilgrims turn violent, damage window panes

Tirupati, Dec 23 (UNI) Tension prevailed at the Central Reservation Office (CRO) in Tirumala today as the people standing in queue to book cottages turned violent.

Police said the pilgrims, who had been standing in the queue for a long time, turned violent and damaged the windowpants of the building as the TTD delayed the booking procedure.

The pilgrims also raised slogans against the TTD for blocking cottages for those, who had come with recommendation letters from VIPs.

Following the incident, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Two pilgrims suffered minor injuries in the melee, police added.
