Officials should apprise farmers about benefits of welfare schemes

Gulbarga, Dec 23 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Agriculture and Marketing Sharanabasappa Darshanapur today said that the officials should apprise the farmers about the benefits of various schemes launched by the State government.

Addressing Farmers Meeting convened on the occasion of "World Farmers Day" here he said that "the government officials should go to the villages and apprise the people about the welfare schemes implemented and make them (farmers) avail the benefits." The Minister opined that the farming sector should be equated as industrial sector and Loans should be given by the Nationalised Banks to the farmers at four per cent interest.
