'NCP to field new faces for TMC elections'

Thane, Dec 23 (UNI) State Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) observer for Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) elections Vasant Chavan today said the party will field new faces for the February 1 Thane Municipal Corporation elections.

Mr Chavan told UNI that the Congress and the NCP have agreed to contest this election jointly. ''I do not see any hurdles in seat sharing,'' he said.

Meanwhile, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, while speaking to reporters, denied that the party was afflicted by groupism at the local level which could adversely affect the NCP's prospects in the civic elections.

He claimed that there were no differences and all party workers were whole-heartedly working for the party's success.
