Mother kills her children, commits suicide

Sitamrhi, Dec 23 (UNI) In a bizarre incident, a woman committed suicide at Pachharsa village under Majorganj police station last night after killing her three children.

District Police Superintendent J N Jha said today that Ms Usha Devi, wife of one Rambabu, in a premeditated move, administered poison to her children and then consumed the same substance leading to deaths of all of them.

Her husband was away from home to attend a religious discourse when the tragic incident took place, he added.

''Preliminary inquiry suggested that the woman was mentally deranged,'' he said.

Three children, who lost their lives in the incident, were - Vivek Kumar, Sunny Kumar and Jyoti Kumari - all below seven years in age.
