Mother kills children, commits suicide

Sitamrhi, Dec 23 (UNI) A woman committed suicide after killing her three children in Pachharsa village under Majorganj police station last night, police said today.

District Police Superintendent J N Jha said Ms Usha Devi, wife of one Rambabu, administered poison to her children and then consumed the same substance.

Her husband was away from home to attend a religious discourse when the incident took place, he said.

''Preliminary inquiry suggested that the woman was mentally deranged,'' he said.

The children were identified as Vivek Kumar, Sunny Kumar and Jyoti Kumari, all below seven years of age.
