Metal prices show mixed trend
Mumbai, Dec 23 (UNI) Mixed trend was witnessed in metal prices here today, according to traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy declined by Rs 300 per quintal while copper utensils and brass cuttings drifted lower by Rs 500 each per quintal on increased offers by stockists. But, brass utensils rose by Rs 300 per quintal on less stock supply.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars eased by Rs 1,000 per quintal on sluggish demand from bulk consumers.
Tin slab and nickel cathode hiked by Rs six and Rs 10 per kg respectively on reduced stock supplies.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 33,400, Copper utensils - Rs 30,500, Brass utensils - Rs 22,800, Brass cuttings - Rs 25,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,900.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 36,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slab - Rs 23,100, Lead ingots - Rs 7,800, Tin slab - Rs 600 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,730 ( kg).
