Last rites of CM's brother performed in Mecca

Jammu, Dec 22 (UNI) The last rites of the brother of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who died in Mecca during Haj pilgrimage, were performed today in the holy city of Saudi Arabia, family sources said here.

Ghulam Qadir Bhatt, elder brother of Mr Azad, who left for Mecca on December 3 for Haj died on Thursday following cardiac arrest. He was buried at the holy Mecca Kabristan at 1530 hrs today in presence of the Chief Minister, sources added.

Mr Azad will leave Saudi Arabia late tonight for India and reach Jammu by tomorrow. He will take part in 'chaharam' to be held at 1200 hrs tomorrow at his family's residence at Gujjar Nagar, the sources added.
