Kurushetra Univ lift inter varsity volleyball title

Kurukshetra, Dec 23 (UNI) Hosts Kurukshetra University lifted the All India Inter University Volleyball (Men) Championship trophy beating defending champions Madras University, Chennai 3-1.

Besides lifting the trophy, the hosts also won a prize of Rs one lakh from the Haryana finance minister Birender Singh who was the chief guest at the prize distribution function.

The losers were given a cash award of Rs 21,000.

MG University, Kottayam finished third in the championship. They were given a cash prize of Rs 11,000. MG University tipped Annamalai university for the third position.
