Joint Front of CPI, CPM and Lok Bhalai to contest 60 seats
Moga, Dec 23 (UNI) The recently-formed Sanjha Morcha (Joint Front) of the CPI, CPM and Lok Bhalai Party, will contest 60 Vidhan Sabha seats in the coming assembly elections in Punjab, to be held in February next year.
''We will contest on a common minimum programme and the common election manifesto of the Morcha will be released in the first week of January.'' Comrade Jagroop Singh Punjab CPI secretary said today while launching the poll campaign of Comrade Randhir Singh, his party candidate for the Moga seat.
Comrade Jagroop Singh was strongly critical of the recent administrative reshuffling of both civil and police administration in the state. He sought the intervention of the Election Commission to put an end to such transfers.
He was critical of both Congress and SAD-BJP alliance, as both had ''failed'' to fullfil their promises when they were in power. He criticised Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and said that his policies were against the interests of all sections including employees, farmers and workers.
He also criticised the policy of the state government to set up SEZs on fertile agricultural land.
