JKLF convenor Javid Mir arrested in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 23 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (Nanaji) convenor Javid Ahmad Mir was today taken into preventive custody along with five of his supporters.

Official sources said Mir along with his supporters were protesting against the killing of two persons, allegedly in the army firing at Sopore yesterday and Kotbalwal jail incident at Regal Chowk near here when police swung into action.

After a mild cane charge, police later took into custody Mir and his five supporters. However, all his supporters were later released from the Kathibagh police station Kothibagh.
