Jagran to launch I-next newspaper in Lucknow
Lucknow, Dec 23: Jagran Prakashan Limited (JPL), publishers of leading Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, today announced the launch of I-next daily newspaper from Lucknow on December 27.
I-next has already launched in Kanpur yesterday and Lucknow will be the second edition of the newspaper, which is a compact-sized, bilingual publication targeting readers in the age group of 18 to 35 yrs from Socio Economic Class (SEC) A and B1.
The newspaper uses a combination of Hindi and commonly used English words keeping in mind the spoken language of the targetted group in mini-metros.
The 24-page city-centric publication is dedicated to local news apart from content on national, international, sports, lifestyle, career and health related issues, which the readers residing in the mini-metros can relate to.
JPL Director Marketing Shailesh Gupta told mediapersons here, the Lucknow edition of I-next will be launched on December 27 and by the end of the current financial, the newspaper will be published from five more cities in the state.
Mr Gupta said 12 of I-next's 24 pages will be in colour but soon all pages would be in colour. Besides, I-next is different from the mother brand Dainik Jagran in terms of look, feel and content presentation.
I-next project head Alok Sanwal said the newspaper stands for imagination, insight, intelligence and innovation, which are qualitities that drive its target group.
''One of the distinct qulities of I-next is that it uses a mix of predominantly Devanagri and some Roman script to reflect the mix of 'Bolchal ki bhasha' and this, along with its look and feel, will made it a unique newspaper,'' he said.
I-next editor Pavan R Chawla said the newspaper will strive to give the people, the kind of content that will be relevant to their lifestyle.
