HP govt satisfied with security arrangements in Chamba
Shimla, Dec 23 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh government today expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements along the border areas of Chamba district of the state adjoining Jammu and Kashmir and said they were adequate to prevent any untoward incident.
''A helicopter today carried out an aerial surveillance of the border areas close to Jammu and Kashmir and found the security in the area adequate,'' state's ADGP D S Minhas told reporters here.
He said during the routine annual exercise a helicopter scoured the border areas and returned to Annadale Ground here at about 1700 hrs after about four hrs of flight.
The senior state police officials had also visited several check posts of Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) and ITTBP besides meeting several local people and found the security arrangements adequate, he said.
The ADGP said the exercise was carried out every year before the onset of the winters to prevent any untoward incident in the district.
