Hooda lays foundation of Chhotu Ram University

Sonepat, Dec 23 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today laid the foundation stone of Deenbhandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology at Murthal in Sonepat district.

The faculty in the subjects of Science and Technology, Architecture and Management would be available in this University.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said a sum of Rs 25 crore would be spent annually for strengthening the infrastructure of the University during the next three years.

Earlier, a State College of Engineering, it had now been upgraded to the level of a University.

The Chief Minister said that due to liberalisation of Economy and huge progress made in the field of Transport and Communication, the world had really become a very small place. In the 21st century, the importance of Science and Technology Education had increased manifold.

To realize the dream of Ch. Chhotu Ram to spread education up to rural areas, this Engineering College had been upgraded to a University, he said.

Mr Hooda assured that there would not be any scarcity of funds for the development of University. The villagers who had given their lands for this University would also be benefited, he added.
