Heroin worth Rs 3.5 cr seized; 3 arrested
Jammu, Dec 23 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested three narcotics smugglers, including a student, and recovered 3.5 kg heroin worth Rs 3.5 crore in the international market from them at Akhnoor in this district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police sources said a police team intercepted three narcotics smugglers yesterday, when they were crossing a forest area with the consignment at Chowki Chowra.
The trio -- Tufail Ahmed, Shakoor Din and Mushtaq Ahmed -- all residents of Nowshera tehsil in Rajouri district, were apprehended and subjected to questioning.
The bag recovered from their possession was found containing packets of heroin weighing 3.5 kg.
Police said Mushtaq Ahmed was a private student of BA Final while Tufail Ahmed was a driver.
