Hearty welcome to CJI-designate at his native place
Kottayam, Dec 23 (UNI) A hearty welcome was accorded to Chief Justice of India-designate K G Balakrishnan when he visited his native place of Appanchira in the district today.
Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly Oommen Chandy, legislators K M Many, Mons Joseph and K Ajith, Bar Association leaders, Pala St Thomas School Principal and several other prominent persons offered felicitations to the CJI-designate.
Justice Balakrishnan arrived there to inaugurate the silver Jubilee celebrations of the Poozhikol Martha Bhavan Special School, where mentally-retarded children were studying.
Handicapped persons could be brought to the main stream of the society through constant practice, he opined and lauded those working among the mentally-retarded.
