Governor lauds civilians for foiling terrorist designs

Jammu, Dec 23 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor S K Sinha today lauded the contributions made by local communities particularly the Gujjar and Bakerwals in defending territorial integrity.

Addressing Gujjars and Bakerwals of various parts of Udhampur district at Reasi, the Governor saluted their valour and loyalty in braving the brunt of elements inimical to peace during past 17 years.

In view of their proximity to borders, these communities remained vulnerable to threats of ultras but never succumbed to pressures, he said, adding they always gave a befitting reply by maintaining their unity.

He praised the good relations between the army and the border people and said the former has been rendering all sort of assistance to them whenever required.
