Four NLFT militants surrender, two arrested in Tripura
Agartala, Dec 23 (UNI) Four NLFT militants have surrendered to the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Khowai in west district and deposited arms and ammunition, officer sources said today.
According to the sources, four National Liberation Front of Tripura militants(BM faction) deserted their camps in neighbouring Bangladesh and surrendered to the authorities yesterday.
They also deposited a mortar shell, ten live catridges of AK series rifle, and Bangladeshi currency.
Interrogation was on.
So far, 89 rebels of different groups have surrendered.
In another successful anti-militancy drive, Assam Rifles jawans captured two NLFT insurgents and a collaborator from south and west districts on Thursday and recovered some gun making materials.
In another drive, TSR and Kanchanpur police in north district, recovered one country made gun, gun making powder, pad and other materials from Nakbari jungle area, the sources added.
