Eight omni bus brokers arrested

Chennai, Dec 23 (UNI) Police have arrested eight brokers of omni buses on the charge of collecting higher fare than the fare fixed by the bus operators at Koyambedu omni bus terminal here last night.

After receiving several complaints about brokers fleecing the travelling public, a special police team posing as passengers approached the brokers. When they quoted exorbitant fare, they were held, police said.

Those arrested were identified as Rajendran, Dawood, Murugan, Ilamaran, Annadurai, Kannan, Selvam and Iyeppan.

All of them were remanded to judicial custody.
