Dish TV denies e-mails on launch of adult channels

New Delhi, Dec 23 (UNI) ASC Enterprises Limited (ASC) today described as ''fictitious and fraudulent'' some e-mail messages purportedly sent from an e-mail ID of a senior company executive and another one from the activation department of the company that it was going to carry certain adult channels from its dishtv DTH platform.

''The contents of these e-mails are false, fictitious and fraudulent. The email addresses from where the mails have been purported to have been generated are fake and they do not belong to the persons whose e-mail IDs are purported to have been used by creating false /fake identities,Ғ a statement from ASC said.

E-mail messages were circulated in the trade circles and media that ASC was going to carry certain adult channels from its dishtv DTH platform.

''ASC would like to clarify and bring to the attention of all concerned, including the general public, subscribers, trade partners and all print/electronic media, that it has no intentions whatsoever to launch any adult channel. The e-mail circulated is a mischievous and malicious handiwork of some unknown persons. The same has been done with a deliberate intention to tarnish the business, image, reputation and goodwill of dishtv,Ғ it said.

Terming the contents of these e-mails as ''false, fictitious and fraudulent'', the entertainment company said the e-mail addresses from where the mails were purported to have been generated were fake and did not belong to the persons whose e-mail IDs had purportedly been used by creating false /fake identities.

ASC has already lodged a formal police complaint with the Economic Offence Wing, Crime Branch, New Delhi on December 21, providing them all the available information and requesting them to investigate and take necessary action by arresting the culprits.

''ASC once again vehemently denies any move or provision to start any adult programming/channel. It strictly adheres to and is committed to providing the programming as per the statutory provisions and guidelines, including the programming code as prescribed by law,Ғ the statement said.

The company said it would request all concerned not to get misled by these fake, fictitious and fraudulent communications and also not to make any payment as sought to be induced by these fraudulent communications.
