CM urges officials to speed up implementation of agriculture schemes
Bangalore, Dec 23 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today urged the officials to expedite implementation of agriculture schemes for the benefit of farmers in the next remaining three fiscal months.
Speaking after distribution of State Agriculture Awards here, he said that the officials have a very vital role to play in the implementation of the welfare programmes.
Stating that there was no dearth for funds, he said that under the Krishi Honda programme only 6000 tanks were provided against the target of 50,000 tanks for this year.
Mr Kumaraswamy called upon the officials to hold frequent interaction with the farmers for planning of future programmes for the development of economic condition of the farmers.
Appealing to the farmers not to take extreme step of committing suicide for the non-payment of loans, Mr Kumaraswamy said "the state government is with you (farmers) and you should live this valuable life in a meaningful way." In all 15 farmers were distributed Awards for the year 2005-06 for their achievement in various aspects of farming.
