CID files chargesheet against 75 in Bhudargad scam case

Kolhapur, Dec 23 (UNI) CID police have filed chargsheet against 75 people who have been named in the Bhudargad Nagari cooperative credit society's Rs 9.5 crore scam.

A total 110 persons including the then president of the society Shitaram Thakur, manager Bhaskar Thakur, board of directors, employees and others have been named in the scam list, police today said.

Earlier, 31 alleged accused have been chargesheeted. With this, the number of persons chargesheeted has reached 106 and the process of filing the chargesheet against the remaining four will be completed soon, the police added.

On December 20, police arrested 56 persons involved in the scam, who have been remanded to Magistrial custody till December 30 in the city's Kalamba jail, police said.

The scam took place about five years ago in the credit society which has its network in the major areas of Maharashtra. Since then the credit society was in focus.
