BJP demands 'special Assembly session'
Hyderabad, Dec 23 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former union minister C H Vidyasagar Rao today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government must covene a 'special Assembly session' to discuss the issue of landless poor.
The just-concluded winter session only discussed the land issue of Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekahra Reddy and other leaders, neglecting the problems of the poor, he alleged.
Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that all political parties had failed to discuss the comman man's problems and the plight of the poor in the state. Only CM's land issue was taken UP during the session. Other issues like land distribution to the poor and their problems were not raised by the ruling as well as opposition parties, he charged.
Referring to the implementation of GO 610, which provides jobs for the local people in Telangana, he alleged that the State government has not taken any action on any government department which had violated the Presidential Order in the implementation of 610 GO.
Charging that the government had not fulfilled the promises made during the elections, Mr Rao said the BJP would support the bill for Telangana if the UPA introduced it in Parliament. Second SRC would not be the solution for seperate Telangana as the COngress MLAs were supporting this for gaining ministerial berths in the cabinet expansion in January, he added.
