BJP demands CBI probe into KSTP irregularities
Kottayam, Dec 23 (UNI) Kerala BJP Secretary B Radhakrishna Menon today described the LDF government's action, ordering a vigilance inquiry into alleged irregularities in the World-Bank aided Kerala State Transport Project (KSTP), as nothing but tactics to pressurise the UDF to compromise on the SNC Lavalin case.
At a press conference here, he demanded a CBI probe into the KSTP irregularities. he said the death of the chief project officer of the Malaysian company should also be probed.
The BJP leader appealed to the government to take immediate steps to repair the M C Road. In support of the demand the BJP would launch agitations. As part of the agitation people's conventions would be conducted at Kottayam, Kottarakkara, Chengannur and Pandalam from January 3 and 4, he said.
BJP State President P K Krishnadas would inaugurate the Kottayam convention on January 3. General Secretary M N Radhakrishnan would also inaugurate the convention at Kottarakara and C K Padmanabhan at Pandalam.
Referring to the move to enact legislation for Governing Devaswom Boards, he said it was to destroy the interest of Hindus.
Hindu faith should be the criterion for appointing board members and not political affiliation, he added.
A management system conducive to protect Hindu interest should be created, he demanded.
