Women prisoners to be shifted to Ludhiana jail

Fatehgarh Sahib, Dec 22: All the women prisoners lodged in various jails of Punjab would be shifted to Ludhiana jail, Parliamentary Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said.

The trial of these prisoners would be conducted through video congerencing in jails and undertrials would not be taken to courts, he said while presiding over a cultural function organised here yesterday.

He said that the state government has cleared the employment of 25 sportspersons out of a list of 295 players awaiting jobs in the police department and the daily allowance of SPOs had also been enhanced from Rs 90 to Rs 150.
