Undertrial injured in firing in court premises

Hisar, Dec 22 (UNI) An undertrial prisoner was shot at and injured by members of a rival gang in court premises in Hansi town of Hisar district today.

Jitender alias Happy, an undertrial facing several criminal charges, was brought from the Jind jail to appear in the court of Judicial Magistrate Hansi when three assailants attacked him and one of them fired shots at him, leaving him injured.

One of the assailants, identified as Balwant, was arrested while the two others fled away. A country made pistol was recovered from Balwant.

Happy was admitted to the Hansi civil hospital.
