Supply inspector sent to jail

Patna, Dec 22(UNI) Special Vigilance Judge of Patna Munilal Paswan today remanded a supply inspector Rajesh Kumar Harijan to judicial custody in a bribery case till January 4.

During the day, Vigilance Investigation Bureau produced the accused before the designated judge after his arrest from civil line mohalla of Sasaram in Rohtas district yesterday.

According to the charges, the accused was arrested by vigilance sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs 4500 from a dealer of Public Distribution System at Sasaram on December 21, 2006.

The accused demanded Rs 5,000 per month from the dealer by threatening to suspend his dealership, FIR said.
