Kolkata, Dec 22 (UNI) The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) will observe 'Mourning Day' tomorrow in memory of Tapashi Malik, an-anti land acquisition villager in Singur, who was found murdered.

''We have decided to wear black badges and build a martyr's memorial in memory of slain Tapashi Malik,'' SUCI state unit secretary Provash Ghosh told newspersons here today.

He demanded that the government should inquire into the incident by appointing a sitting judge.

''We have no trust in the CBI or the CID as the former is controlled by the ruling party at the Centre, while the latter by the state,'' Mr Ghosh said.

He questioned the occurance of such an incident even when police were guarding the area round-the-clock.

''The ruling government is trying to hush up the incident in the name of a CID inquiry,'' he added.

He also said the Singur impasse would be settled if the government provided barren instead of multicrop land for the project.
