SUCI to observe "Mourning Day" tomorrow for Tapashi's death
Kolkata, Dec 22 (UNI) The Socialist Unity Centre of India(SUCI) will observe "Mourning Day" tomorrow in memory of Tapashi Malik's murder in Singur for Tata's small car project.
''We have decided to wear black badges and make martyr's tomb in memory of slained Tapashi Malik,'' SUCI state unit secretary Provash Ghosh told newsmen here today.
He demanded that the government should inquire into the incident by appointing a sitting judge.
''We have no trust in the CBI or the CID as the former is controlled by the ruling party at the Centre while the latter by the state,'' Mr Ghosh said.
He questioned the occurance of such an incident took place when police were guarding the area round the clock.
The ruling government trying to hush up the incident in the name of CID inquiry, he added.
He also said the Singur land problem would be settled if the government provided barren instead of multicrop land to the industrialists.
