Special trains for X-Mas

Chennai, Dec 22 (UNI) Union Railway Minister for State R Velu has ordered special trains on the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil, Chennai Central-Trivandrum and Bangalore-Chennai Central and Melmaruvathur to clear extra rush of passengers during Christmas festival.

A Southern Railway press release said the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil special train will leave Chennai Egmore at 1900 hrs on December 23 and arrive at Nagercoil at 0815 hrs the next day.

On the return direction, the train would leave Nagercoil at 1200 hrs on December 24 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 0345 hrs the next day.

The trains would stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachchi and Tirunelveli.

The Chennai Central-Trivandrum Special would leave Chennai Central at 1545 hrs on December 25 and arrive at Trivandrum at 0645 hrs the next day. The trains would stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Palghat, Ottapalam, Trichur, Alwaye, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Chenganacherry, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayankulam, Quilon and Varkala.

The Bangalore-Chennai Central Special would leave Bangalore at 2300 hrs. on December 27 and arrive at Chennai Central at 0515 hrs the next day. The Chennai Central-Bangalore special would leave Chennai Central at 1630 hrs on December 24 and arrive at Bangalore City at 2220 hrs the same day.

These trains would stop at Bangalore Cantt., Krishnarajapuram, Whitefield, Bangarapet, Jolarpettai, Ambur, Katpadi, Arakkonam and Perambur.

Advance reservation would commence tomorrow.

The Bangalore-Melmaruvathur would leave Bangalore at 1845 hrs on December 23 and arrive at Melmaruvathur at 0245 hrs the next day.

On the return direction, the train would leave Melmaruvathur at 1745 hrs on December 24 and arrive Bangalore at 0400 hrs the next day. The trains would stop at Bangalore Cantt., Krishnarajapuram, Whitefield, Bangarapet, Kuppam, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam and Chengalpattu, the release added.
