Shriram Transport Fin launches credit cards for truck operators

Kolkata, Dec 22 (UNI) Shriram Transport Finance Company has launched credit cards for the truck operators which is co-branded by UTI.

Speaking at a press conference here today, Shriram Transport Finance Company Executive Director Umesh Revankar said,'' We are also planning to introduce innovative products like truck exchange programmes, tyre finance, working capital and engine replacement finance.'' Some other new products also include free mobile phones and reward programmes.

Talking about future plans, Mr Revankar said,''We have managed funds worth Rs 9,500 crore in the first ten months of the current financial year. We aim to raise it to Rs 20,000 crore by 2010. The funds managed by the company include both used and new vehicle financing.'' The company has appointed Dharmendra as its brand ambassador.

Bridge Capital, Chrys Capital, CitiCorp, UTI Bank, Reliance and FMO hold stakes in the company. Apart from vehicle financing, the company has also ventured into insurance, stock broking and Consumer Durable Finance.
