Shiv Sena meet pushed ahead to December 27
Mumbai, Dec 22: The Shiv Sena has postponed to December 27 the meeting of its office-bearers which was scheduled to be held today.
Party Rajya Sabha member Manohar Joshi said the meet was postponed as it was decided to invite more office bearers. The Rangsharada Hall, where the meet was to be held, would have proved inadequate, Mr Joshi said.
Mr Joshi told UNI that earlier it was decided to invite all office-bearers upto the level of ''upshakha pramukhs''. But, it has been decided to invite even the ''gatpramukhs'' and now the meeting will be held on December 27 at the NSR ground in Goregaon.
Mr Joshi informed that in the city there are six ''vibhag pramukhs'', over 200 ''shakha pramukhs'' and over 800 ''upshakha pramukhs''. In every ward, there is one ''gat pramukh'' for every 1,000 voters.
It has been decided to extend invitations to even the grassroot-level office bearers as Mr Bal Thackeray, who makes verty few public appearances, will be addressing the gathering, Mr Joshi said. A compact disc, containing a song for the Shiv Sena, will also be released on the occasion. The song has been written and composed by Avadhot Gupte and sung by Swapnil Bandodkar and Vaishali Samant.
