Museum for freedom fighters in Orissa-Naveen

Puri, Dec 22 (UNI) Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said a museum will be established at Satyabadi depicting the life and history of all freedom fighters of the state.

Addressing a meeting at Satyabadi, Mr Patnaik announced a seven crore package for the tourism development of the area which included the development of Panchsakha peeth and the Churiana Bakulban.

The museum to be set up at Satyabadi would display all historical facts of the freedom fighters through audio visual system, he added.

The Chief Minister said hundreds of companies, including multinationals, had chosen Orissa as their destination for all industrial activity right from generation of thermal power to production of steel and alumina.

He said so far Rs 4.5 lakh crore investment in power and other industry sectors had already materialised.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by local Parliament member Brajkishore Tripathy and BJD MLA Pradip Maharathy, inaugurated a cold storage at Satasankha, two school buildings in Pipili area.

Hours before the Chief Minister's meeting hundreds of Congress activists, led by former Congress Minister Prasad Harichandan and Umabalav Rath, gheraoed the Satyabadi block demanding probe into largescale misappropriation of funds in Indira Aawas Yojana and Antodoya Yojna.
