Metal prices decline on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, Dec 22 (UNI) Metal prices declined on poor industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.

In Ferrous section, Copper heavy and brass cutting eased by Rs 300 each per quintal while copper utensil and brass utensil drifted lower by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on the absence of fresh demand.

In Non-ferrous section, Copper wire bars fell by Rs 500 per quintal while Zinc slab and Lead ingots came down by Rs 200 each per quintal on sustain heavy selling pressure.

Tin slab and Nickel cathode also eased by Rs six and Rs 20 per kg respectively on increase offers by stockist.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 33,700, Copper utensils - Rs 31,100, Brass utensils - Rs 22,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 37,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slab - Rs 23,100, Lead ingots - Rs 7,800, Tin slab - Rs 594 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,720 ( kg).
