Lok Dal seeks EC's direction to Singh

New Delhi, Dec 22 (UNI) The Lok Dal has urged the Election Commission (EC) to direct party President Chaudhary Rajendra Singh to submit party-related documents before it so that it could convene its National Executive meet and elect a new president in January next year.

Party's National Vice-President Durgesh Bagel, in a memorandum submitted to the EC, said in case he failed to submit the papers concerened to the party, the EC should grant a separate registration and symbol to the Lok Dal.

The memorandum pointed out that ever since Mr Singh took charge as the party President on September 10, 2004, he neither called a single party meeting nor convened any executive meet, which was in violation of the party's Constitution.
